Social media have a role to play in helping to preserve languages such as Cornish. Making this dictionary-driven word-a-day site which also automatically tweets out a daily Cornish phrase took just a weekend.
There will be almost 4,000 Cornish/English word pairs on this site by the time it’s fully populated. Thanks to Tim Saunders for giving me an interest in Cornish when we were colleagues at BBC Cymru Wales in the 1980s. More recently, Mike Tressider of the Cornish Language Partnership helped me to decide to make this site when we had lunch together in Dublin in November 2015.
